בקשר לסיבה שבעטיה וייט נשפט ל-7 שנות מאסר בלבד – עד כמה שאני זוכר, הסרט לא מציג את המידע שהבאת פה (שהוא נמצא לא שפוי וכו'). וחבל, כי אחרת הייתי באמת כותב על המקרה בצורה שונה.

Firstly, Milk tried to be elected to San Francisco's board of supervisors. This is not a
פקח עירייה
but, more appropriately, something like
חבר מועצה
which is obviously a position of power, second only to the mayor.

Secondly, Milk was not the only one murdered by Dan White, who on the same day also shot George Moscone, then mayor of San Francisco. I think your analysis that the reason White was only sentenced to 7 years because he was more popular than Milk the pervert is exagerrated, if not downright incorrect. Moscone – not a pervert – was killed too, right? White was determined psychiatrically unstable, and probably truly was (he committed suicide shortly after his release from prison).

Lastly, the film is indeed very good. I also recommend watching "The Times of Harvey Milk" which is a 1984 documentary about Milk and his friends.
